Jason Steeves of Steeves Pharmasave in East Saint John was presented with the Bowl of Hygeia at the New Brunswick Pharmacists' Association's (NBPA's) PharmaNB conference on Saturday, April 27, 2024.
The Bowl of Hygeia is NBPA's most prestigious award, recognizing a pharmacist whose impact extends beyond professional duties. This award recognizes the valuable contributions pharmacists make, with a special emphasis on community service.
Jason has been a leader in encouraging fellow pharmacists to offer immunizations and treat minor ailments in pharmacies, improving access to health care for thousands of New Brunswickers.
In addition to the special relationship he has with his patients, Jason was commended for his volunteer work with his church and for his leadership during the pandemic, when he organized vaccination clinics in the North End and Crescent Valley communities, as well as for twelve elementary and middle schools in Saint John and Rothesay.
He is also one of the first pharmacists in the province to offer COVID-19 vaccinations for children under five.
