Medicare covers pharmacy administration of the following vaccines:

Pharmacists can also assess and prescribe vaccines and/or drug products for some preventable or travel-related conditions, including:

  • Chickenpox (Varicella zoster)
  • Diptheria
  • Haemophilus influenzae type B 
  • Hepatitis A
  • Hepatitis B
  • Human Papillomavirus (HPV)
  • Lyme Disease
  • Malaria
  • Measles, mumps, and rubella
  • Meningitis (Meningococcal disease)
  • Pertussis
  • Polio
  • Pregnancy (i.e. prescribe contraceptives / birth control products)
  • Rabies
  • Shingles (herpes zoster)
  • Tetanus
  • Traveler's Diarrhea
  • Travel vaccines
    • Cholera 
    • European tick-borne encephalitis 
    • Japanese encephalitis 
    • Typhoid 
    • Yellow fever
