
The New Brunswick Pharmacists’ Association (NBPA) introduced a new award at its PharmaNB 2025 conference on Sat., May 24 in Fredericton.
The New Practitioner Award – Registered Pharmacy Technician recognizes registered pharmacy technician members who are noted for their innovation and excellence in service to the profession or to the public within their first five years of graduating and becoming licensed to practice in New Brunswick.
Bhawanjot (Jot) Bahadur of Moncton was named as the award’s first recipient. One of the first pharmacy technicians in the province to become certified to administer injections, Jot is also the first registered pharmacy technician elected to NBPA’s Board of Directors.
Jot was also recognized for her commitment to education and mentorship, as the testimonial in support of her nomination states:
Jot has been a vital contributor to the advancement of pharmacy technician education through her active involvement on the Pharmacy Technician Program Advisory Committee (PAC). Her insights and guidance have been instrumental in shaping the direction of the program and supporting the success of future pharmacy technicians.
Jot is also a dedicated preceptor, taking her mentorship role seriously and ensuring students receive meaningful, real-world experiences. Her passion for developing the next generation of professionals is evident in the time and care she devotes to their growth.
