Esmee Setzke of Hampton Pharmasave received the Scott Knowles Memorial New Practitioner Service Award at the New Brunswick Pharmacists' Association's PharmaNB conference on Saturday, April 27, 2024.
This award is presented to a new pharmacist in recognition of exceptional service through innovation or contributions to their community within their first five years of practice.
Esmee was elected valedictorian of her 2023 Dalhousie University College of Pharmacy graduating class, after volunteering in numerous roles with the Dalhousie Student Pharmacy Society.
At Hampton Pharmasave, Esmee works primarily in the Pharmacist Care Clinic where she has been on the front lines of primary care, assessing and prescribing for Strep A, and providing chronic disease management for patients with diabetes, cardiovascular disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and asthma. Esmee also organizes vaccination clinics in senior living facilities and performs home visits for patients with mobility issues.
Outside of the pharmacy, Esmee volunteers with Hampton High School’s women’s rugby team, where she will be head coach for the upcoming season.
